We’re excited to announce that Dorian has accepted a Content Strategy and Production internship with Block Party, a social-first creative agency.
In today’s competitive professional landscape, the journey to success often requires more than talent and ambition—it calls for access, opportunity, and the right support network. For Dorian, a University of Connecticut senior majoring in Digital Media and Design, that journey has been nothing short of transformative, thanks to his hard work and community of support.
A Story of Talent and Determination
Dorian's experiences show his growth as a creative professional with a clear passion for storytelling through digital media. With a robust skill set spanning Adobe Suite, ProTools, and JavaScript, alongside certifications and hands-on experience in cinematography, film writing, and professional experience, Dorian has built an impressive foundation.
His portfolio includes standout projects like IMMERSION, a short documentary capturing the experiences of UConn Stamford political science students during the 2024 New Hampshire primaries. This work earned him accolades, including official selections at the New Hampshire Film Festival and the Orlando International Film Festival, as well as awards like Best Documentary at the Bridgeport Film Festival.
Beyond his technical skills, Dorian has demonstrated leadership and a commitment to community impact. Whether creating voter education campaigns, volunteering at LaunchPad events, or designing short advertisements for local businesses, his work reflects a drive to make a difference through storytelling.
Since Dorian was first introduced to LaunchPad by Digital Media Connecticut in September 2023, Dorian has harnessed opportunities to expand his network, gain mentorship, and prepare for his next steps. His dedication culminated in securing a coveted internship with Block Party, a company redefining connection and community in the digital age.
Building a Career with Block Party
Block Party is not your typical agency. With a social-first, full-service focus, Block Party creates content, campaigns, and creative that has people always saying "whoa, that was you guys?" Block Party clients include Netflix, Bloomberg Philanthropies, Nick Kroll, Comedy Central, and many more.
As a new Content Strategy Intern at Block Party, Dorian will have the opportunity to contribute to projects that align with his skills and values. In particular, he will be collecting and analyzing content from both existing clients and external sources to inform and create new campaign ideas. Dorian will also participate in video editing, among other skill-sets and projects. From his expertise in digital media and design to his experience managing logistics and crafting compelling narratives, Dorian is well-prepared to thrive in an environment that prizes innovation and community engagement.
LaunchPad: Opening Doors and Elevating Talent
The LaunchPad program has been instrumental in Dorian’s journey. Designed to create access and opportunity for emerging talent in industries like entertainment, sports, and finance, LaunchPad provides young adults with the tools they need to succeed—career discovery sessions, experiential learning opportunities, internships, and pathways to full-time employment.
Since its inception, LaunchPad has been a lifeline for students and young professionals like Dorian, who face barriers to entering competitive industries. By partnering with schools, nonprofits, and companies, LaunchPad not only identifies talented individuals but also helps organizations discover the untapped potential of underrepresented groups.

It was really important for not only me but for other students to get hands-on experience, one-on-one discussions with small groups, or simply an opportunity to be face-to-face with executives...
